Knee surgery on Friday went very well and I am now on the mend. I’m not going to lie… it hurts A LOT. 1 out of 5 stars, would not recommend haha! Recovery isn’t going to be easy but I’m hoping to come out of it stronger than I was before the injury happened. I certainly can’t get back to hiking with the family if my legs and knees can’t carry me! I may just have to avoid doing “The Wobble” for a while. My oldest has forbade it so there’s that too.
I start physical therapy this week so wish me luck! In the meantime, I need to work on my “walks with crutches” skills. They are seriously lackluster. It is my first time with them, though, and I don’t fall over (anymore) so I guess I’m not doing so bad.
On another good (but unrelated note), the revision surgery that I have been impatiently waiting for since the first one (way back in May 2024) has been moved up to September 19th! I was able to get in contact with a scheduler and, not only was she able to make it happen, but she was able to move the surgery date to the week I’m already scheduled to be in Houston. I may have done a silly little happy dance but I’m not ashamed to say it! It feels like the final piece to treatment — a bit like closure or the last page of a chapter.
I. Cannot. Wait.
That’s all I’ve got for you, folks. Thank you for all the love and well wishes for surgery. Much love to y’all and keep smiling!
