Most of you probably already know that I was released from the hospital today. But I knew I was going to be released last night even before the doctors did.
After finishing up chemotherapy infusion, I was given an injection to help my white blood cells recover. We were warned that bone pain is the most common side effect, but the nurse also said young people don’t always experience it. She said it would happen about 2-3 days after the injection.
Well, last night, I woke up at 2am with a very deep pain in my pelvis. It was as if I could feel every book and cranny of it, and it was throbbing. I have never been more excited to feel pain in all my life. I knew that, when they drew my labs in a few hours, we were all going to be happy with the numbers.
My WBC count went from 0.5 to 2.4 which meant FREEDOM!
My very next question when the doctor said I would be discharged was, “When can I travel?” She said it would all depend on my levels and what my doctor deemed to be safe.
Two hours after being discharged, I was given the green light to go home! We booked a flight immediately and, about this time tomorrow, I should be walking through my front door.
Thank you to everyone for all the love and prayers! We get to see our babies tomorrow!
